There are so many awesome hikes and campgrounds worth exploring in Anza Borrego State Park, but there are our top picks. Depending on when you arrive, you could complete most of these hikes within two days.

The Slot (Per All Trails 4.7 | moderate | 2.2mi |)
This is a quick out-and-back trail that allows you to experience the awesome slot canyons in Anza Borrego. It was fairly easy with a few areas that required mild scrambling, which is likely what makes it ranked as moderate on All Trails.

The Slot + The Wash + The Butte Loop Trail
Slot + Wash + Butte Loop (4.6 | moderate | 4.6mi | )
This is the extension of The Slot trail. Instead of out-and-back slot canyon, you'll extend your hike through an area called the wash. I personally thought this scond part was fine but then climbing up through The Butte trail had me really appreciate the view and diversity of the trail. I highly recommend the loop over the slot.

Borrego Palm Canyon Loop (4.7 | moderate | 2.8mi |)
Super cool hike through the mountains that has you end in an oasis of Palm Trees. It is a common place to see Big Horn Sheep. This was. a really enjoyable hike. It also has picnic tables at the start of the trail for lunch and these really cool outdoor bathrooms with flush toilets. This is also walking distance from the Borrego Palm Canyon Loop Campground.

Font's Point Sunrise (4.7* | hard | 8.4 miles| )
This trail requires some off-roading, but if your vehicle is fairly lifted it could handle most of the drive out there. The length is shortened significantly if your vehicle is able to handle most of the drive. This is a MUST HIT for sunrise, but could also be enjoyed at sunset if uou aren't morning people.

Whale Peak (4.8* | hard | 4.8mi | )
4.8 miles out-and-back track. It is also a popular trail for rock climbing. Great views, but should be mindful of snakes. Because of it's difficulty, you'll experience less crowds.
